19-year-old faces charges following north end gas station robbery

The man will face charges of robbery and resisting arrest in Halifax Provincial Court

A 19-year-old man will face charges following a gas station robbery in Halifax’s north end on Saturday afternoon.

At 2:36 p.m. on Feb. 12, Halifax Regional Police (HRP) responded to a robbery at the Ultramar located at 2816 Gottingen St.

Police say in a news release that a man entered the store and attempted to gain access behind the counter. In the process, the man assaulted staff who tried intervening.

“No weapons were observed and the man left empty-handed and fled the area on foot where he was apprehended by police a short distance away,” an HRP news release says. “No staff members or members of the public were injured during the incident.”

The man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of robbery and resisting arrest.
