Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a party in the 6000 block of Bayers Road around 12:41 a.m. on Jan. 16. Police issued 11 tickets to the people inside the home for not following Section 71 (1) (b) of the Health Protection Act. Each ticket carries a fine of $2,422, adding up to more than $26,000. “HRP is reminding everyone to follow the current Public Health measures related to the COVID-19 emergency,” a news release says. “We strongly advise members of the public to continue to educate themselves on these Public Health directives and COVID-19 enforcement measures. “Enforcement of these restrictions remains a vital part of the overall strategy to curb the pandemic.” Due to the Omicron wave, Nova Scotia currently has an informal gathering limit of 10 people indoors and outdoors.
