كل من سوريا ولبنان والأردن وإسرائيل، يتوارثون أفكارهم ومعتقداتهم التي يزيد عمرها على ألف سنة. يصفون أنفسهم بالموحدين وتحيط بهم خصوصية دينية لا تمنعهم من التفاعل مع الطوائف الأخرى والتعايش معها. يؤمن الدروز بفكرة توحيد الإله لذلك فهم “موحدون”، ويًطلق عليهم أيضاً “بني معروف”، وتشير مصادر تاريخية إلى أن تسميتهم بالدروز تعود إلى نشتكين الدرزي الذي انشق وهرب إلى لبنان لينشر دعوته هناك، رغم عدم وجود إجماع درزي على ذلك. عقيدة الطائفة الدرزية يؤمن الدروز بأن الله واحد وهو الخالق والمتحكم الأزلي في الكون، وأن العقل البشري غير قادر على استيعاب عظمته. وإلى جانب هذا التسليم بوجود إله واحد، فإن كثيراً من الغموض يحيط بمعتقدات هذه الطائفة، لأن مؤسسيها اختاروا عدم البوح بها، واكتفوا بتوارثها بين شيوخ وشيخات الطائفة وحصرها بدوائر صغيرة وعدم تعليمها إلا لمن يبلغ 40 عاماً من أبناء الطائفة. ينقسم الدروز إلى 3 أقسام تراتبية أو درجات، هي كما يلي: الدرجة الأولى: طبقة رجال الدين الدارسين والتي تُعرف بـ”العُقّل”. تنقسم هذه الدرجة إلى رؤساء أو عقلاء أو أجاويد، ويُدعى أعلاهم مرتبة بشيخ العُقَّل. الدرجة الثانية: الأجاويد، وهم أولئك الذين اطلعوا على تعاليم الطائفة ويلتزمون بها. الدرجة الثالثة: عامة الناس والجاهلون بالدين، ولكن الذين يتربون على العادات والتقاليد التي تحضهم رويداً على تلقي التعاليم الدينية وعلى رأسها احترام وطاعة الكبير ورجال الدين. ويشار إليهم بالجاهلين أو الجهّال، لأنهم بكل بساطة منغمسون في أمور الدنيا لا الروحانيات. أما مكان العبادة فيُسمى بالخلوة، حيث يُتلى فيها ما يُتلى، ولا يسمح للجهال بالمشاركة فيها إلا في عيد الأضحى الذي يتوافق مع أهل السنة، وهو العيد الرسمي الوحيد للطائفة. مظاهرة درزية في مجدل شمس بالقرب من خط وقف إطلاق النار بين إسرائيل وسوريا في مرتفعات الجولان المهام القيادية قبل أن يدعموا الحملة العثمانية ضد محمد علي باشا في بلاد الشام. تكبد وقتها المصريون خسائر كبيرة في جبل العرب جنوب دمشق، تحت قيادة حاكم الجبل آنذاك يحيى الحمدان. مع بداية القرن العشرين، أعلن الدروز ولاءهم للشريف حسين وانضموا إلى الجيش العربي، ثم شاركوا في محاربة الاحتلال الفرنسي لسوريا ورفضوا تشكيل الدولة الدرزية المستقلة. وبسبب انضمامهم إلى مشروع دولة لبنان الكبير تحت قيادة الأمير فخر الدين المعني، تعرض الدروز لاضطهاد في فترة الحكم العثماني. ممنوع الزواج من خارج الطائفة يمنع رجال الدين أو “العقّال” أبناء الطائفة من الزواج من طوائف أخرى، ولا يجوز عندهم تعدد الزوجات. أما الطلاق فهو ليس حكراً على الرجال ويحق للمرأة المطالبة به إذا قررت ذلك، وذلك بالرجوع إلى المرجعيات الدينية التي تمتلك محاكم شرعية خاصة بشؤونها، والمتخصصة بشؤون الزواج والطلاق والميراث الشرعي. تناسخ الأرواح من المعتقدات التي تميز هذه الطائفة إيمان أبنائها بتناسخ الأرواح، أي بمعنى آخر، بمجرد وفاة الإنسان وخروج الروح من جسده، تدخل في جسد مولود آخر انقسامات سياسية ورغم خصوصية الطائفة وعدد رعاياها القليل، فإن الأمر لم يخلُ من انقسامات سياسية شقّت أبناء الطائفة إلى مساندة طرف دون آخر، وتحديداً في لبنان. وكان نظام بشار الأسد في سوريا أهم سبب لهذا الانقسام، وبينما عارضه الزعيم السياسي وليد جنبلاط، سانده رئيس الحزب الديمقراطي اللبناني طلال أرسلان. وحالياً يوجد أكبر تجمع للدروز في لبنان على طول الأطراف الغربية لجبال لبنان وكذلك بالجزء الجنوبي الشرقي من البلاد، ويبلغ إجمالي عدد السكان الدروز أكثر من 300 ألف مواطن. مارس الدروز سلطة سياسية كبيرة في البلاد تحت زعامة الراحل كمال جنبلاط، الذي حظي بشعبية واسعة. كما ساعدت معارضته للرئيس اللبناني كميل شمعون (ثاني رئيس للجمهورية اللبنانية)، وضمن ذلك التحريضُ على انتفاضة ضده عام 1958، في كسب احترام واسع النطاق بين القوميين العرب. الدروز في إسرائيل يقطن الدروز بلبنان في 136 قرية منتشرة في جبل لبنان وبعض المناطق الحدودية مع إسرائيل، وعند إعلان تأسيس دولة إسرائيل، بقي العديد منهم في قراهم وقبلوا العيش تحت لوائها، أما الذين رفضوا فهاجروا إلى لبنان وسوريا. وبحسب وزارة الخارجية الإسرائيلية، يقدَّر عدد الدروز في إسرائيل بنحو 104 آلاف، بينهم 18 ألفاً في هضبة الجولان التي احتلتها إسرائيل من سوريا عام 1967، أي ما يعادل 1.6% من نسبة سكان إسرائيل. وبحسب موسوعة Britannica، شارك الدروز في القتال تحت راية الجيش الإسرائيلي في كل حرب بالمنطقة، وهم يشاركون في أمن الحدود الإسرائيلية والسلك الدبلوماسي. ولكن في يوليو/تموز 2018، عندما سنَّ الكنيست الإسرائيلي قانوناً دستورياً يكرس إسرائيل كدولة يهودية، قاد الدروز رد فعل قوياً زعموا فيه أن القانون جعلهم مواطنين
