لاحتواء انتشار فيروس كورونا المستجدّ في وقت تجاوزت الحالات 10 آلاف إصابة في البلاد. وتمّ التبليغ عن ارتفاع الحالات بعد يوم على الدعوة التي وجّهها رئيس الحكومة جوستان ترودو للكنديّين لملازمة المنزل للحدّ من تفشّى الوباء. ويبحث رئيس الحكومة الفدراليّة في وقت لاحق اليوم الخميس مع رؤساء الحكومات المحليّة في المقاطعات في سبل تنسيق الجهود وتبادل البيانات حول تطوّرات الأزمة. وأشار ترودو إلى التقدّم الذي حقّقته المقاطعات لتسريع تحليل نتائج اختبارات الكشف عن مرض كوفيد-19. “أعرف أنّ الكثيرين يتساءلون متى ستتحسّن الأمور أو إلى أيّ مدى ستسوء”: رئيس الحكومة جوستان ترودو. وأضاف ترودو بأنّ الحكومة ستنشر على تطوّر انتشار الفيروس. وأعرب ترود ردّا على سؤال عن قلقه إزاء أخبار أثارتها بعض وسائل الإعلام حول احتمال تحويل صفقة كمامات اشترتها كندا، و باعتها الصين لمن دفع سعرا أعلى. وقال ترودو إنّه بحث في القضيّة مع مسؤولين أميركيّين، دون أن يؤكّد صحّة هذه المعلومات . “سوف نتابع المسألة مع وزير النقل مارك غارنو ووزير الأمن العام بيل بلير والوزراء المعنيّين للتأكّد ممّا جرى ومن أنّ المعدّات الموجّهة لكندا ستصل إلى كندا”: رئيس الحكومة جوستان ترودو. وأوضح ترودو ردّا على سؤال بأنّ الاحتياجات صارخة في كندا والولايات المتّحدة على حدّ سواء وينبغي العمل معا لاحتواء انتشار الفيروس. وكانت وزيرة الصحّة الكنديّة باتي هايدو قد أشارت أمس الأربعاء إلى وجود منافسة قويّة على صعيد التموين بالألبسة الطبيّة والمعدّات الشخصيّة الواقية . وبلغ عدد الإصابات في كندا حتّى كتابة هذه السطور 10132 حالة مؤكّدة و131 حالة وفاة بمرض كوفيد-19 . و قد أعلنت حكومة ألبرتا عن تأجيل العمليّات الجراحيّة غير الضروريّة وتحرير أسرّة المستشفيات لاستقبال مرضى كوفيد-19. وفي أونتاريو، أعلن مستشفى جوزيف برانت في مدينة بورلينغتن عن تركيب مركز مؤقّت يضمّ 93 سريرا تحسّبا لاحتمال ارتفاع عدد الإصابات بالفيروس. ويتيح ذلك للمستشفى الاحتفاظ بأسرّة العناية الفائقة للمرضى الذين يعانون أوضاعا صحيّة حرجة. ودوما في مقاطعة أونتاريو، أعلن مركز هيلث ساينس نورث في مدينة سادبوري عن تأجيل العمليّات الجراحيّة الاختياريّة المجدولة مسبقا لتحرير الأسرّة تحسّبا لاحتمال تفشّي الوباء. وتقول وكالة الصحّة العامّة الكنديّة إنّ مرض كوفيد-19 يشكّل تهديدا خطيرا لصحّة الكنديّين، مشيرة إلى أنّ الخطورة تختلف بين مجموعة وأخرى. “إن لم نتمكّن من تسطيح منحنى الفيروس الآن، سيترك ارتفاع عدد الإصابات بمرض كوفيد-19 تداعيات على موارد القطاع الصحّي التموفّرة للكنديّين” حسب وكالة الصحّة العامّة. بلديّة مدينة شارلوتاون عاصمة مقاطعة جزيرة برنس إدوارد تخطّط للاستثمار في البنى التحتيّة لمرحلة ما بعد الوباء/Brian Higgins/CBC/هيئة الإذاعة الكنديّة أيضا في سياق التطوّرات، أكّد وزير الخارجيّة الكندي فرانسوا فيليب شامبان أنّ الحكومة تواصل جهودها من أجل إعادة كافّة الكنديّين من الخارج. وأوضح أنّ التحدّي غير مسبوق وتصطدم الجهود بالكثير من العراقيل بسبب إغلاق المطارات والحدود كما قال. ورغم الجهود، لن تتمكّن الحكومة من إعادة جميع الكنديّين إلى البلاد كما قال وزير الخارجيّة، وأكّد أنّ الحكومة الكنديّة سوف تساعدهم ودعاهم إلى الالتزام بتعليمات السلطات الصحيّة المحليّة في الدول التي يتواجدون فيها. وفي جديد التطوّرات في مختلف أنحاء كندا، ارتفعت الإصابات بالفيروس في بريتيش كولومبيا وبلغت حتّى كتابة هذه السطور 1066 حالة و25 حالة وفاة، وتماثل 606 مصابا إلى الشفاء. وتوقّعت د. بوني هنري رئيسة الخدمات الطبيّة في بريتيش كولومبيا أن تواجه المقاطعة تحدّيا صعبا خلال الأسبوعين المقبلين، وكرّرت دعوتها للجميع بضرورة الالتزام بتوصيات التباعد الاجتماعي حرصا على سلامتهم. رئيس حكومة كيبيك فرانسوا لوغو دعا شرطة المقاطعة للتشدّد مع مخالفي قواعد التباعد الاجتماعي:Sylvain Roy Roussel:Radio-Canada ودعا وزير الصحّة المحلّي أدريان ديكس العائدين من الخارج إلى الالتزام بالعزل المنزلي لمدّة 14 يوما وإلّا سيتعرّضون لغرامات ماليّة وحتّى لعقوبة السجن، واعتبر مخالفة الإجراء بمثابة “خيانة حقيقيّة” لأبناء المقاطعة. وفي كيبيك، دعت السلطات الصحيّة أبناء المقاطعة إلى الابتعاد عن مراكز رعاية المسنّين مع تفشّي الوباء في عدد كبير منها. ودعا رئيس حكومة المقاطعة فرانسوا لوغو الشرطة إلى التشدّد تجاه الذين يخالفون إجراءات التباعد الاجتماعي، مذكّرا بأنّ قيمة المخالفة تتراوح من ألف إلى 6 آلاف دولار عن كلّ مخالفة. وحتّى كتابة هذه السطور، ارتفع عدد الإصابات في كيبيك 5518 حالة مؤكّدة بزيادة 907 حالات عن اليوم السابق، و36 حالة وفاة. في نيوبرنزيك في شرق البلاد، أعلنت الحكومة تمديد حالة الطوارئ أسبوعين إضافيّين. وفي نوفا سكوشا، كرّرت الحكومة دعوتها لأبناء المقاطعة بضرورة البقاء في المنزل، وقرّرت إقفال المدارس حتّى نهاية العام الدراسي وترفيع التلاميذ من كافة مراحل الدراسة. وأعلنت أجهزة شرطة المقاطعة تعاونها في ما بينها وتنسيق الجهود استعدادا لمواجهة كلّ الاحتمالات كما قال روجر براون رئيس جهاز شرطة العاصمة إدمنتون. في جزيرة برنس إدوارد أطلق أبناء الجالية الصينيّة حملة جمع تبرّعات لمساعدة المقاطعة على مواجهة تفشّي الوباء. وتخطّط بلديّة العاصمة شارلوتاون للاستثمار في مشاريع البنى التحتيّة لتعزيز الاقتصاد في مرحلة ما بعد الوباء.
