عالم الأدب. والملفت في هذه الرواية هو ما تختبرهُ البطلة سيسيل من مشاعر مُتناقضة خصوصاً بعد وفاة غريمتها آن إثر حادث السير إذ تعتبرُ نفسها متورطة في تلك النهاية المأساوية. تعودُ ساغان في روايتها المعنونة “هل تحبين برامس؟” الصادرة من المدى على ثيماتها الأثيرة المعبرة عن المستوى النفسي من خلال ثلاث شخصيات أساسية. وما يجمع بين هؤلاء هو تراوح مَصائرهم بين عدة احتمالات والشكُ في حقيقة مشاعر المُقابل. ولعلَّ الأزمة التي تعانيها بول أكثر تعبيراً عن أبعاد وجودية فهي بلغت عتبة الأربعين، ولا تريدُ الإنسياق وراء عواطف غامضة، لذا تتحملُ مناورات عشيقها روجي خوفاً من الوحدة والمجهول، ويوحي المشهد الإفتتاحي في الرواية حيثُ تتأمل بول صورتها في المرآة مستعيدة خيباتها مُتحسسة خطَ الزمن على وجهها بما تمرُ به هذه الشخصيةُ من التوتر. وعندما يتستبطنُ الراوي سرائر بول يتبينُ ما يُضاعفُ من حدة قلقها، ويُصاحبُ هذا الشعور عيشقها أيضاً كما يتغلغلُ في أعماق شخصية سيمون مع أنَّ سقفاً واحداً قد جمعه بـ (بول) لمدةٍ بعدما إقتنعت الأخيرة بأنَّ الوحدة التي خلفها غياب روجي لا يمكن التخفيف من وحشتها إلا بوجود شخص آخر. كان يحكمُ علاقة بول بروجي إتفاق ضمني يتمتعُ كل واحد منهما بالحرية لكنَّ بول قد سئمتْ من هذا الوضع دون أن تُصارح شريكها بذلك. بالمقابل فإنَّ العبارات التي تردُ على لسان روجي تُعلن شعوره بالعبث وتبرمه من التكرار، أمر تكتشفهُ بول بحسها الأُنثوي. عندما يسألها كم مرةً بدرت منه حركة لتشغيل المذياع وهو في طريقه إليها؟ فما كان منها إلا أن قالت هل تبدو الأمور مكررة؟ يراوغُ روجي بكلامه أحيانا أشعر بنفسي المُكررة. وهذا ما يوميء إلى أن العاطفة قد شاخت نتيجة الملل من دورة الحياة الرتيبة. رصد العنصر المكاني ومحتوياته التي تنعكسُ عليها دواخل الشخصية المُقبلة على اختبار عاطفي جديد مع سيمون، وهو أصغر منها سناً بأربع عشرة سنة البديل مع أنَّ فرانسواز ساغان كانت مولعةً بالحياةِ وأرادت التمتعَ بلحظاتها إلى أقصى حدٍ غير أنَّ حزناً شفيفاً يطبعُ مُناخ روايتها وتنشأُ هذه الحالة بفعل عدم إكتمال السعادة. بعد أن يقضي الاثنان أوقاتاً مع البعض في التنزه والرقص يتسربُ الحزنُ إلى الأجواءِ عندما يحين موعد مُغادرة روجي ويحلُ الشكُ مكانَ السعادة لدى بول التي تتبدى الشجون على وجهها ويتكفلُ الراوي هنا بالإبانةِ عن موقفِ روجي وفهمه لما لمحت إليه عشيقتهُ ورغبتها بأن لا يتركها ويمارسُ معها الحب. وبهذا تطمئنُ المرأةُ، لكن يُفضلُ روجي الذي يمتلك شركةً للنقل التمتع بحريتهِ، ولا يعجبه التقيد والحال هذه فإنَّ مؤلفة “جروح الروح” تُمررُ أسئلة مضمرة بشأن العلاقة بين الحرية والرغبة كما يهمها إظهار تجربة بول مع الوحدة وتوقها لمعرفة ما يعنى الشغف وإحتياج الآخر إليها. وتنجحُ ساغان في وصف حياة تبدو هادئةً في الظاهر لكن تعتمل بالأسئلة الضاجة والقلق في العمق، وذلك برصد العنصر المكاني ومحتوياته التي تنعكسُ عليها دواخل الشخصية المُقبلة على اختبار عاطفي جديد مع سيمون، وهو أصغر منها سناً بأربع عشرة سنةً. طبعاً العملُ يكونُ حلقة واصلة بين الاثنين. تقومُ بول بتزويق المحلات والمنازل إذ تخبر عشيقها بأنَّ هناك زبونة ثرية فان دان بيش في شارع كليير تتوقعُ الإستفادة منها مالياً لكن في شقةِ السيدة الأميركية تصادف وجود سيمون الذي يغرمُ بـ بول ويصبح رفيق وحدتها، وبديلاً لروجي كما أنَّ الأخير يحاول الهروب من ملله بإقامة علاقة عاطفية مع ميسي. الوهم ينضمُ سيمونُ إلى منظومة السرد الروائي ولا تتوقف معرفته بـ بول عند المستوى السطحي إنما ينجرفُ إليها عاطفياً. يأتي هذا التطورُ مُتزامناً مع تلاشي حضور روجي في حياة عشيقته. وهذا ما يُضيقُ المسافة أكثر بين سميون وبول علماً بأنَّ ما يشغل الأخيرة ويُصعد من توترها هو الفارق في السن بينها وبين سيمون. والغريب في هذا الإطار هو إثارة غيرة روجي على بول عندما يعرفُ بوجود شخصية ثانية في حياة بول وبدوره يتفاجأُ المحامي الشاب الذي يتصفُ بالمرحِ والدعابةِ بروجي حين يراه برفقة بول في شارع سان جيرمان. تتوالى اللقاءات بين بول وسميون إلى أنْ تتخذ علاقتهما منحىً عاطفياً ساخناً بحيثً يقعُ روجي خارج المشهد غير أنَّ غياب العشيق السابق جسدياً لا يعني تواري صورته في ذهن بول التي تعترف لسيمون عندما ترافقه بأنَّه لولا إبتعادُ روجي ما وجدها قريبة منه. يغمرُ سيمون رفيقته بالرومانسية حيثُ يكتبُ لها رسالةً سائلاً إياها “هل تحبين برامس؟” ومن ثم يدعوها إلى حفلة موسيقية، ينقلُ الراوي ما يتداعي إلى خيال بول عندما تقرأُ عبارة “هل تحبين برامس” حيثُ تنداح ذكرياتها مُسترجعةً اللحظة التى سمعتْ فيها تلك العبارة للمرة الأولى وهي في السابعة عشرة من عمرها. وبينما يشاركُ سيمون رفيقته في تذوق روعة الموسيقى يتذكرُ رؤيته لروجي برفقة شابةٍ في أحد الفنادق القريبة من “أودان” دون أن يُخبرَ بول بهذا السر ولا يفتحُ هذا الموضوع حتى عندما تستعجلُ بول العودة إلى شقتها مترقبة روجي الذي قضي عطلته برفقة عشيقته الجديدة. ويعقبُ على هذا الموقف بسؤال “تحبين روجي لكنك وحيدة، وحيدة يوم الأحد” هكذا تتناوب آلة السرد بين مُراقبة ما يدور بين سيمون وبول من جانب، وما تصل إليه علاقة الأخيرة مع روجي من جانب آخر. وهو كان يستمعُ إلى موسيقى برامس عبر المذياع بصحبة ميسي التى تبوح بأن اسمها الحقيقي مارسيل. يتابعُ المتلقي في مفصل آخر من الرواية تحولاتٍ تمرُ بها شخصية سيمون إذ لم يعدْ مُهملاً بل أصبح مهتماً بعمله طلباً لثقة بول. فهو يكن لها مشاعر الحبِ والشفقة والإعجاب. ويساكنها آملاً بأن يقصي بذلك شبح روجي لكن لا يحول وجود سيمون في حياتها بقوة من اللقاء بروجي الذي تسللَ السأمُ إلى علاقتهِ مارسيل وبدأَ يَشُكُ في حبها. يمضي الراوي في رصدِ حياة سيمون بجوار بول إذ تخللُ النزهاتُ والرحلاتُ إلى أيامهما، وما إنفك سيمونُ يؤكدُ على أنَّه مؤهل للحب وجدير بالثقة ويطلبُ الزواج من بول. وعندما يتحولُ السرد نحو روجي تراه ضجراً من الوحدة لا يفهمُ التناقض الذي كان قائما في علاقته مع بول لماذا كلما غادرها كان يشعرُ بالنجاح في الهروب وماذا يشدُ إليها الآن؟ أخيراً تتحققُ نبوءةُ سيمون عندما يصادف حضور الثلاثة في حفلة موسيقية يتبادلُ روجي النظر مع بول ويتمُ إحتكاك بين كتفيهما في مشهد يذكرك بلقطات سينمائية معبرة، ومن ثمُ يراقصها على مرأي العشيق الشاب ما يعني أن الحب يدب من جديد في القلب. ويعقبُ ذلك اللقاءُ بين بول وروجي والكلام المُتبادل يوحي بشدة الشوق والإدراك بأن الفراق لا يمكن أن يستمرَ وما يكون المشهد الأخير إلا عبارة عن مُغادرة سيمون لشقة المرأة التي وقع في وهم حبها. وتنبأ مسبقاً بأنَّ موقفه أكثر
