دعا رئيس الحكومة جوستان ترودو إلى توحيد الجهود الكنديّة الهولنديّة لِمقاومة التطرّف وتهديد المناخ.
ودعا ترودو في كلمة أمام أعضاء البرلمان الهولندي في لاهاي (نافذة جديدة)، إلى “مرحلة جديدة من الشراكة” بين كندا وهولندا لِمواجهة “عالم لا يمكن التنبّؤ به”.
وأشار ترودو إلى تحرير هولندا من النازيّة خلال الحرب العالميّة الثانية، وأضاف أنّ البلدين الحليفَين مؤهّلان للعمل معاً لِمواجهة عدد من التحدّيات المشتركة، ومنها تنامي التطرّف عبر الإنترنت وعدم المساواة والتهديد الوجودي الذي يشكّله التغيّر المناخي.
إن كان بلَدانا مرتبطَين ببعضهما البعض وأعلم أنّهما كذلك، فهذا ليس فحسب من خلال تاريخنا المشترك، بل أيضا من خلال المستقبل المشترك قال رئيس الحكومة جوستان ترودو.
وتابع في خطاب استمرّ 20 دقيقة، أنّ هولندا وكندا كصديقِين وحليفَين وشريكَين عبر الأطلسيّ، يتقاسمان التزامهما بمستقبل أكثر إشراقا يريدان رؤيته، وقيم تقدّميّة توصل إليه.

وأشار ترودو إلى أنّ نظريّات المؤامرة وعدم التسامح و الأشخاص الغاضبين المهمّشين عبر الإنترنت، كلّها قضايا ملحّة في العالم الغربيّ، تتطلّب ردّا قويّا من دول تتشابه في التفكير.
إن زرعنا بذور مستقبل أفضل، سيأتي يوم أفضل قال رئيس الحكومة، وأضاف أن هذا ما كان يؤمن به الجنود الكنديّون الذين توجّهوا إلى السواحل الأوروبيّة وشاركوا في تحرير هولندا.
وكان من المفترض أن يقوم جوستان ترودو بزيارة هولندا العام الماضي في الذكرى الخامسة والسبعين على تحريرها من النازيّة، لكنّ جائحة فيروس كورونا المستجدّ حالت دون ذلك.
وشارك الجنود الكنديّون في الحرب العالميّة الثانية وتوفّي 7500 جندي كندي في معركة تحرير هولندا في أواخر العام 1944 وأوائل العام 1945 قبل استلام ألمانيا.
وتوجّه رئيس الحكومة برفقة الأميرة مارغريت، عضو العائلة المالكة الهولنديّة إلى مقبرة الجنود الكنديّين في برغن في جنوب هولندا، حيث وضع إكليلا من الزهور.
وشارك ترودو و الأميرة مارغريت في حفل صغير عزف خلاله عازف قربة نشيد الموت، في مقبرة برغن التي تحوي 1118 من قتلى الحرب.
وتوجّها بعد ذلك إلى 3 مواقع قبور أخرى واستمعوا من الدليل إلى تجارب الجنود الذين شاركوا في الحرب العالميّة الثانية.
و يُجري رئيس الحكومة جوستان ترودو في وقت لاحق اليوم محادثات مع نظيره الهولنديّ مارك روته، عشيّة انعقاد قمّة مجموعة الدول العشرين في روما ومؤتمر الأمم المتّحدة للتغيّر المناخي كوب 26 في غلاسكو.
وطرح عدد من النواب الهولنديّين أسئلة على جوستان ترودو حول الأهداف التي حدّدتها كندا لخفض انبعاثات الغازات الدفيئة، ولماذا هي دون الأهداف الأوروبيّة.
وردّ ترودو موضحا أنّ مكافحة التغيّر المناخي لا تقتصر على الأهداف وحدها ، بل يجب أن تترافق مع خطّة واقعيّة للانتقال إلى الاقتصاد النظيف.
ولا يمكن مقارنة كندا، البلد المنتج للغاز والنفط بهولندا التي تستخرج نسبة أقلّ من الوقود الأحفوري قال رئيس الحكومة جوستان ترودو.
