أظهرت دراسة جديدة نشرتها صحيفة “إندبندنت” البريطانية أن سم أحد أكثر العناكب فتكا في العالم يمكن أن يستخدم لمساعدة المصابين بنوبات قلبية على التعافي وإطالة عمر القلوب المستخدمة في عمليات الزرع.

وقال الباحثون المشاركون بالدراسة إن الدواء الذي تم تطويره من جزيء موجود في سم عنكبوت “فنل ويب” يمكن أن يمنع الضرر الناجم عن النوبة القلبية.

ويذكر أن عناكب فنل ويب الشائعة في شرق أستراليا، هي مفترسة وتبني شبكات حول جحورها وتنتظر حتى تعلق فريستها، وسمها يمكن أن يقتل الإنسان.

وتم إجراء الدراسة من قبل فريق بقيادة البروفيسور بيتر ماكدونالد من معهد فيكتور تشانغ لأبحاث القلب في سيدني، نيو ساوث ويلز، والدكتور ناثان بالبانت والبروفيسور غلين كينغ من جامعة كوينزلاند في بريسبان.

وقال البروفيسور ماكدونالد “لن يساعد هذا فقط مئات الآلاف من الأشخاص الذين يصابون بنوبة قلبية كل عام في جميع أنحاء العالم، بل يمكن أن يزيد أيضا عدد ونوعية قلوب المتبرعين، مما يمنح الأمل لمن ينتظرون في قائمة الزرع”.

بدوره قال الدكتور بالبانت إن الدواء يعمل عن طريق إيقاف “إشارة الموت” المرسلة من القلب في أعقاب النوبة. وأوضح “بعد النوبة القلبية، ينخفض تدفق الدم إلى القلب، مما يؤدي إلى نقص الأكسجين في عضلة القلب”.

وأضاف أن “نقص الأكسجين يتسبب في أن تصبح بيئة الخلية حمضية، ويتسبب ذلك في إرسال إشارة إلى خلايا القلب لتموت، وعلى الرغم من عقود من البحث، لم يتمكن أحد من تطوير دواء يوقف إشارة الموت هذه في خلايا القلب، وأمراض القلب لا تزال السبب الرئيسي للوفاة في العالم”.
