لو لم أر لما صدّقت، ورغم أنني رأيت فإنني لا أزال عاجزاً عن التصديق، لكن المشهد منطقي، فالمنطق صار لا منطقياً في هذا الزمن المنقلب.
نستطيع بالطبع أن ننسب كل شيء إلى كورونا، تماماً مثلما فعلت السلطة في لبنان حين نسبت الانهيار الاقتصادي إلى انتفاضة 17 تشرين! علماً بأن الانتفاضة كانت رداً على الانهيار، ومضبطة اتهام ضد مافيا الفاسدين الذين نهبوا البلاد.
المشهد الذي لا يصدّق رأيته بعيني رأسي في أحد شوارع حي الأشرفية في بيروت، بالقرب من منزلي.
كانت الساعة حوالي العاشرة صباحاً، خرجت من البيت كي أمارس طقوس الذلّ أمام أحد البنوك. طقس الذلّ هذا، الذي كان لا معقولاً منذ ثلاثة أشهر، تحوّل اليوم إلى طقس معقول. وحين يغضب شباب الانتفاضة ويثورون ضده، يُعتقلون ويُعذبون في أقبية المخابرات. فالثائر في هذا الزمن اللامعقول صار مخرباً أو إرهابياً، حسب المصطلح الجديد الذي عممه الأمريكيون والإسرائيليون.
هل سيتحول مشهد «طنبر» الكاز، إلى مشهد أليف ومعقول؟
الحكاية أنني رأيت في أحد الشوارع طنبراً يبيع الكاز. والطنبر هو برميل له شكل عربة بعجلتين، والعربة مشدودة إلى بغل يجرّها، الحوذي يحمل في يده زموراً، ويجول في الشوارع منادياً على بضاعته.
فجأة رأيتني أعود إلى زمن عتيق مضى، حين كان بائع الكاز يمر في الحي على عربته وبغله، مطلقاً زموره وصراخه، وكانت أمي تعطيني وعاء أركض به صوب البغل كي أشتري الكاز من صاحبه.
يومها كانت أمي تطبخ على إيقاع بابور الكاز أو البريموس. ومع أن البريموس شهد تطوراً دراماتيكياً، حين نزل إلى السوق نوع جديد من البريموس هو البريموس الصامت، لكن نهاية بابور الكاز حلت مع شيوع استخدام البوتاغاز، الذي غيّر المطابخ إلى غير رجعة، وأدخل إلى بلادنا المنكوبة بالحروب قلق الحصول على قنينة الغاز، التي يمكن رصد مآسيها في المقتلة السورية.
لكن هذا ليس موضوعنا، موضوعي هو شعور الطفل الذي كنته بالحزن لغياب بائع الكاز، وحنين غامض إلى البغل الذي اختفى من شوارعنا.
كما تعرفون، فالحنين شعور دافئ يرافقنا طوال حياتنا، لكن الفرق بين الشعور بالحنين ورؤية تحققه بشكل ملموس مسألة أخرى.
كي أكون صادقاً، فإنني في اللحظة التي رأيت فيها بغل الكاز شعرت بالدوار، كأن لا زمن. المكان مهما تغيّرت معالمه يبقى هو المكان ويمكن القبض على بعض ملامحه التي لم تغب. أما الزمن فلا ملامح له.
عاد الزمن بي ستين سنة إلى الوراء، وبدلاً من أن يقودني الحنين إلى الفرح أصبت بالرعب. رأيت البغل يعود إلى بيروت، أو رأيت بيروت تذهب إلى زمن البغال. ركضت صوب البائع، فرأيت رجلاً في الستين، متغضّن الوجه، عيناه غائرتان في محجريها، يزمّر وينادي على بضاعته كأنه يستغيث. حطّم الرجل صورة بائع الكاز في مخيلتي، وبدلاً من أن أرى نفسي أمام شاب يزهو على عربته ويغنّي لبضاعته ويغازل نساء الحي، رأيت هذا الرجل البائس الذي يجول في الشوارع باحثاً عن زبائن لم يعد لهم وجود.
حين حاولت أن أتكلم معه، طلب مني بصوت أجش أن أجلب غالوناً كي يبيعني. وعندما قلت له إنني لا أريد أن أشتري، سمعت شتيمته، فقلت له إنني أريد أن أوجه إليه بعض الأسئلة. ألا ترى أنني مشغول ولا وقت لديّ أضيّعه، قال.
فهمت منه أنه كان يعمل دهاناً، وأن العمل توقف، فعاد إلى ضيعته، واستأجر هذا البغل من قريب له. «والله صار لي ثلاثة أيام مع البغل والشغل مش ماشي، بس الناس رح تتعوّد وترجع تشتري مني». وروى أن البغل حيوان مدهش في لطفه وقدرته على التحمّل، أخذ شكله من خاله الحصان لكنه يتحمّل ما لا يستطيعه الحصان، لأنه حمار كأبيه. وقال إنهم في قريتهم في أعالي عكار يفضلون البغل على النغل. وشرح لي أن النغل مختلف، فوالده حصان وأمه حمارة. فأخذ شكل خاله من دون أن يرث ذكاء والده.
لم أكن مهتماً بمعرفة سرّ هذا الحيوان الهجين، لكن ما استوقفني هو عدم قدرة البغل على الإنجاب، فهو مثل ابن خاله النغل حيوان عاقر.
قلت للرجل إن البغال تشبه مهنته، فهي في طريقها إلى الانقراض لأنها عاقر. فابتسم محدثي بلؤم وقال إنه مشغول، ونصحني بعدم الاهتمام بمصير البغال، فالطبيعة تتكفّل بمخلوقاتها، ومضى.
لو لم أر هذا الرجل بعينيّ، صباح يوم الخميس 7 أيار- مايو 2020، لما صدّقت هذا الخبر الذي أرويه لكم.
والآن أجد نفسي متردداً، ما معنى الكتابة عن مشهد قرر رجل فقير إحياءه بسبب بؤسه ويأسه، في بلاد سقطت في هاوية الانهيار؟
هل هذه الحكاية كناية عن حاضرنا؟
لكن واقعنا المتفجّر هنا في لبنان وهناك في فلسطين وهنالك في هذا العالم العربي، أكثر بلاغة من أي كناية؟
أم هل قادني هذا البغل إلى خيبة الأمل، وجعلني أرتبك للحظة أمام ذاكرتي التي قرر تشويهها، محوّلاً شعوري بالحنين إلى أيام الطفولة إلى شعور بالإحباط الممزوج بالغضب.
ألم يكن بإمكاني أن أتمتع بالبغل كظاهرة فولكورية، وأقرأه بوصفه عرضاً فنياً لطيفاً، يعيدنا إلى جنة مفقودة، طالما تغنينا بها؟
كيف تتحول جنة استعادة الماضي إلى جحيم؟
عندما أتابع مشاهد هذا الانهيار المروّع في لبنان، أشعر أن الماضي صار عدوي، ثم أصحح وأقول هذا ليس الماضي، فالماضي لا يستعاد، والحنين لا يتحقق، والألم هذه المرة مختلف وجديد.
هذا حاضرنا، وربما كانت إحدى علامات «الأعجوبة اللبنانية»، هي قدرتها على جعل البغال تنجب، فبغل الاستبداد لا يقود عربة رجل بائس خرج بحثاً عن قوت يومه، بل يقود بلادنا إلى هاوية الانحطاط والفقر والقمع.
لا أعتقد أنه يحق لي أن أنهي مقالي بهذا التشبيه، فالبغل يرفض أن يُقارن بهؤلاء السفلة الذين يدفعون عربة بلادنا إلى الهاوية. البغل حيوان نبيل، يحتمل المشقات والمصاعب، وهو صديق الإنسان ورفيق الفقراء، أما هؤلاء، وأنا أعني «كلن يعني كلن»، فهم مجرد لصوص.
