BBC / في مثل هذا الوقت من عام 1936 عاد الأمير فاروق إلى مصر قادما من بريطانيا ليجلس على العرش خلفا لوالده فؤاد الأول ملكا على مصر والحاكم الحادي عشر من أسرة محمد علي.
وقد انتهى عهده بعد 16 عاماً عقب حركة الجيش في 23 يوليو/تموز من عام 1952 التي أجبرته على التنازل لنجله الرضيع أحمد فؤاد الذي كان يبلغ من العمر 6 أشهر، ثم أسدل الستار بعد نحو عام على النظام الملكي عقب الإعلان عن قيام النظام الجمهوري في مصر في 18 يونيو/حزيران من عام 1953 .
فما هي حكايته؟
تقول دائرة المعارف البريطانية إن الملك فاروق ولد في 11 فبراير/ شباط من عام 1920 في العاصمة المصرية القاهرة وتوفي في 18 مارس/ آذار من عام 1965 في العاصمة الإيطالية روما عن عمر ناهز 45 عاماً.
وتلقى فاروق، ابن وخليفة الملك فؤاد الأول، تعليمه في مصر وإنجلترا، وبعد وفاة والده الملك فؤاد الأول في أواخر أبريل/نيسان من عام 1936 عاد الأمير إلى مصر في 6 مايو/ آيار وهو بالكاد تجاوز 16 عاماُ من العمر وهو اليوم الذي اعتبر التاريخ الرسمي لجلوسه على العرش.
وبعد أن أصبح ملكاً واصل خصومة والده مع حزب الوفد ذي القاعدة الشعبية الكبيرة، واشتبك معه حول العديد من القضايا، بحسب دائرة المعارف البريطانية.

خلافات مع الوفد
فقد اختلف الملك الشاب فاروق الأول على الفور مع النحاس باشا زعيم الوفد ورئيس الوزراء حول عدة قضايا منها الحد من سلطات الملك، والسياسات الدولية.
وفي كتابها “الملك فاروق والخلافة الإسلامية” تقول الدكتورة أمل فهمي إن التيار الإسلامي احتل مكانة داخل القصر في عهد الملك فاروق الذي استخدمه لتحقيق شعبية في الشارع للتغلب على خصومة السياسيين، وأبرزهم حزب الوفد.
وأشار الكتاب إلى مساعيه للترويج لفكرة الخلافة منذ اليوم الأول له في الحكم، عقب أدائه اليمين الدستورية، إذ تصاعد الجدل حينئذ بشأن مساعي القصر لتنظيم احتفال له طابع إسلامي لفاروق في مسجد الرفاعي. وكان الأمير محمد علي الوصي على العرش قد اقترح أن يتقدم الشيخ المراغي، شيخ الأزهر حينها الحضور ويقوم بتقليد فاروق سيف جده محمد علي باشا، ولكن حزب الوفد بقيادة زعيمه مصطفى النحاس أصر أن يتم تتويج الملك الشاب وفقا لنص الدستور، ولم ينظم الحفل.
وقد استغل الملك شعبيته الكبيرة في ذلك الوقت وأجواء التوتر الدولي التي بدأت تنذر بحرب عالمية جديدة ليطيح بحكومة الوفد في ديسمبر/ كانون الأول من عام 1937.
وبعد اندلاع الحرب العالمية الثانية، حاول فاروق الحفاظ على الحياد، على الرغم من وجود القوات البريطانية في مصر، ولكن في فبراير/شباط من عام 1942 أجبره البريطانيون على تسمية زعيم الوفد مصطفى النحاس مجددا رئيسا للوزراء بحسب دائرة المعارف البريطانية.

فقد كان النحاس يميل إلى التعاون مع البريطانيين في مواجهة دول المحور ومن ثم خير السفير البريطاني السير مايلز لامبسو، مسلحاً بإنذار ومدعوم بقوة عسكرية حاصرت قصر عابدين، الملك فاروق بين التنازل عن العرش أو تكليف النحاس برئاسة الحكومة فاختار فاروق العرض الثاني، ثم جاءت انتخابات مارس/آذار من ذلك العام فمنحت حزب الوفد نصراً ساحقاً.
وفي أكتوبر/تشرين الأول من عام 1944 تفاوض النحاس على بروتوكول الإسكندرية، وكان خطوة نحو إنشاء جامعة الدول العربية في العام التالي، وهي منظمة إقليمية للدول العربية والتي أراد فاروق أن يضع نفسه على رأسها، بحسب دائرة المعارف البريطانية.
مناورات وساعات ذهبية
وحول علاقة فاروق بالجيش البريطاني في أواخر الحرب العالمية الثانية نشرت بي بي سي وثيقة عن تلك الحرب تقول إنه في بداية عام 1945 كانت الحرب في أوروبا على وشك الانتهاء، وفي شمال إفريقيا هزم الجنرال مونتغومري الجيش الألماني وطرده أخيرا.
وفي 18 فبراير/ شباط من عام 1945 وافقت قيادة البحرية البريطانية على طلب الملك فاروق زيارة حاملة طائرات تابعة للبحرية الملكية بالإسكندرية. ونظراً لأن الحاملة إتش إم إس هانتر كانت سفينة حربية بريطانية رفيعة المستوى، فقد طُلب من الكابتن تورليس الترفيه عن الملك فاروق وتوضيح كيفية عمل حاملة الطائرات.
فقد أبحرت إتش إم إس هانتر من ميناء الإسكندرية وقام السرب 807 بمناورات وعرض تكتيكات قصف الأهداف أمام الملك المصري.

وقد قدم الطيارون عرضا رائعاً وسهروا في الليل مع الملك في ملهى ليلي، وتلقى كل طيار ساعة يد ذهبية وتسلم الطاقم صناديق برتقال من بساتين الملك.
وفي اليوم التالي، أبحرت إتش إم إس هانتر عبر البحر الأحمر صوب اليابان. بحسب وثائق الحرب العالمية الثانية التي نشرتها بي بي سي.
ولكن هل كان فاروق ميالا للبريطانيين؟ أو هل كان يسعى للحياد فعلا في الحرب العالمية الثانية؟ في كتابه “النازيون العرب القصة الكاملة لتحالف لم يكتمل”، قال الباحث رامي رأفت إنه بعد سقوط ألمانيا النازية وقعت وثائق تابعة لوزارة الخارجية الألمانية في يد الحلفاء تفضح علاقة الملك بالألمان، وفي أعقاب حرب 48 قدمت الولايات المتحدة للأمم المتحدة مذكرة من 11 صفحة عنوانها “سجل تواطؤ الملك المصري فاروق مع النازيين وحليفهم مفتي القدس”.
وفي كتابه “كيف سقطت الملكية في مصر؟ فاروق بداية ونهاية” يشير المؤرخ محمد عودة لاتصالات غير مباشرة بين هتلر وفاروق، بموجبها تم الاتفاق على أن يقدم الملك المصري دعماً لوجستياً وسياسياً للقوات الألمانية إذا نجحت في هزيمة الجيش البريطاني لتسهيل وصولها إلى قناة السويس ثم منابع النفط في الخليج العربي وإيران.
حرب 1948
تقول دائرة المعارف البريطانية إن الوطنية المصرية منيت بهزيمة مذلة على يد دولة إسرائيل الحديثة النشأة في حرب عام 1948، وقد أثارت الهزيمة العسكرية غضب العديد من ضباط الجيش المصري بشكل خاص، وانتهى الأمر بهم إلى الإطاحة بفاروق عام 1952.
وقد فجر ذلك الغضب بشكل خاص ما عرف باسم “قضية الأسلحة الفاسدة” وهي القصة التي أثارها الأديب والكاتب الصحفي إحسان عبد القدوس الذي قال إن الجيش المصري تعرض للخيانة في حرب فلسطين عام 1948 واستخدم أسلحة فاسدة قتلته بدلا من قتل العدو، فكان ذلك سبب الهزيمة.

ولكن هل كانت هناك قضية “أسلحة فاسدة” فعلا؟ في كتابه “مذكراتي في السياسة والثقافة” أكد ضابط المخابرات الحربية السابق الدكتور ثروت عكاشة أن الآراء التي تقول بأن سبب هزيمة الجيش المصري في فلسطين عام 1948 هو فساد الأسلحة والذخائر آراء متجاوزة للحقيقة، وأن كل ما حدث هو انفجار ناجم عن خطأ في تعبئة الذخائر الإنجليزية، وكان مثل هذا الحادث وقع للجيش البريطاني خلال الحرب العالمية الثانية.
وفي كتابه “كلمتي للتاريخ” قال اللواء محمد نجيب: “أنا لا أريد أن أنزلق مثل الكثيرين إلى تعليق عدم انتصارنا في حرب فلسطين على مشجب الأسلحة الفاسدة، وهي القضية التي استخدمت للدعاية ضد النظام القائم حينذاك، ولكنها انتهت ببراءة المتهمين”.
غير أنه من رحم حرب فلسطين وما أعقبها من قصة “الأسلحة الفاسدة” ولد تنظيم الضباط الأحرار بقيادة جمال عبد الناصر والذي أطاح فيما بعد بفاروق وبالنظام الملكي كله.
النفي والموت
استمر حكم فاروق 16 عاماً إلى أن أرغمته حركة الجيش في 23 يوليو/تموز من عام 1952 على التنازل عن العرش لابنه الطفل أحمد فؤاد والذي كان عمره حينها 6 أشهر وفي مساء يوم 26 يوليو/ تموز من عام 1952 غادر الملك فاروق مصر على ظهر اليخت الملكي المحروسة، وهو نفس اليخت الذي غادر به جده الخديوي إسماعيل عند عزله عن الحكم.

وفي هذا الإطار، يتحدث كتاب “سادة الصحراء” للمؤرخ البريطاني جيمس بار عن قصة التنافس الأمريكي البريطاني على المنطقة بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية، وقصة علاقة الجاسوس الأمريكي الشهير كيم روزفلت مع الضباط الأحرار وكيف التقى بمجموعة منهم في قبرص.

وكان ذلك قبل أشهر من الإطاحة بالملك فاروق الذي لطالما كان يردد قبل رحلته الأخيرة من الإسكندرية إلى إيطاليا بعد الانقلاب عليه أن ملوك العالم لن يبقى منهم سوى ملوك ورق الكوتشينة الأربعة وملك بريطانيا.
كما كان الملك فاروق متيقنا في البداية أن حكمه سيأتي إلى نهايته في لحظة ما قريبة، فإن بريطانيا بدت بدورها متحسبة لانتهاء الدور، مما أجج صراعها مع الولايات المتحدة ودفع مبعوث الرئيس الأمريكي إلى الشرق الأوسط وندل ولكي للقول: “إن الزمن الاستعماري أصبح من الماضي”.
في تلك المرحلة بدت بريطانيا بحسب الكتاب كمن يصارع القدر لا سيما مع الترابط الذي بدا جليا بين تأميم مصدق في إيران للنفط في العام ١٩٥١ وطلبه خروج الموظفين البريطانيين من ميناء عابدان الإيراني، وبين تحرك البرلمان المصري لتعديل اتفاقية ١٩٣٦، حيث عبر تشرتشل عن الوضع بالقول إن أزمة السويس هي “لقيطة الحالة الإيرانية”.
وبعد نفيه من مصر، استقر الملك فاروق أولا في إمارة موناكو ثم انتقل إلى العاصمة الإيطالية روما.
وتوفي الملك فاروق في مطعم إيل دو فرانس في روما في 18 مارس/آذار من عام 1965، بعد تناوله العشاء ولم يتم تشريح الجثة لمعرفة سبب الوفاة حيث رفضت العائلة ذلك.
وفي حديث نشره موقع صحيفة الأهرام المصرية بتاريخ 9 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني من عام 2018، قال الدكتور ماجد فرج المتحدث باسم الملك أحمد فؤاد الثاني ومؤرخ العائلة المالكة إن فاروق توفي في ليلة 18 مارس/آذار من عام 1965 وقد حدثت الوفاة في الساعة الواحدة والنصف صباحا بعد تناوله عشاء دسماً في مطعم ايل دي فرانس، وقد قيل إنه اغتيل بسم الاكوانتين، على يد إبراهيم البغدادي أحد أبزر رجال المخابرات المصرية، فهل كانت صدفة أن يعمل البغدادي نادلا لمدة شهر في نفس المطعم الذى اعتاد الملك فاروق الذهاب اليه؟ لقد كان ذلك بتكليف من القيادة السياسية التي كانت تخشى تحقق شائعة عودته لمصر.

وقد رفضت أسرة الملك تشريح جثته وقتها، ربما لحرصها على أن تنفذ وصية الملك بأن يدفن في مصر.
وأضاف الدكتور فرج قائلا للأهرام إن الرئيس جمال عبد الناصر رفض هذا الطلب آنذاك، لولا إلحاح العاهل السعودي الملك فيصل بن عبد العزيز بأن يدفن في مصر، واشترط الرئيس جمال عبد الناصر بأن لا يدفن في مدافن مسجد الرفاعي، ونقل جثمانه إلى مصر في منتصف الليل ودفن في جامع إبراهيم باشا بتكتم شديد، إلا أن الرئيس السادات سمح بنقله في وقت لاحق، وتم نقل رفاته ليلا وتحت حراسة أمنية إلى المقبرة الملكية بمسجد الرفاعي في القاهرة ودفن بجانب أبيه الملك فؤاد وجده الخديوي إسماعيل وبقية أعضاء الأسرة العلوية.
سلبيات وإيجابيات
تقول دائرة المعارف البريطانية إنه على الرغم من الشعبية الكبيرة التي تمتع بها في البداية فإن الخصومات الداخلية بين إدارته ونفور الجيش إلى جانب تجاوزاته وغرابة أطواره المتزايدة أدت إلى سقوطه وقيام جمهورية.
وعلى الرغم مما نسب لفاروق من سلبيات سواء في فترة حكمه أو على المستوى الشخصي إلا أنه نسب إليه أيضا عدد من الإنجازات التي تمت في عهده.
ففي كتابه “سنوات مع الملك فاروق شهادة للحقيقة والتاريخ”، يقول الدكتور حسين حسني السكرتير الخاص للملك إن عهده شهد العديد من الإنجازات منها استبعاد الموظفين البريطانيين من قصر عابدين واستبدالهم بمصريين.

ومن إنجازاته أيضا انضمام مصر إلى عصبة الأمم ثم الأمم المتحدة، وإنشاء الكلية الجوية “مدرسة الطيران العالي” بمنطقة ألماظة في عام 1937 والتي تحولت إلى كلية الطيران الملكية عام 1948، كما وقع اتفاقية مونتريه في عام 1937 مع الدول الأوروبية التي لها امتيازات أجنبية في مصر تم بموجبها إلغاء الامتيازات الأجنبية التي كانت تتمتع بها هذه الدول.
وكانت تلك الامتيازات تنص على أنه إذا حدث خلاف بين مصري وأوروبي يفصل في الخلاف قنصل البلد الذي ينتمي إليه ذلك الأوروبي، وبعد توقيع اتفاقية مونتريه صار يفصل بينهما القضاء المصري.
كما يعود إليه أيضا فضل عقد أول مؤتمر برلماني للبلاد العربية والإسلامية من أجل فلسطين، وإنشاء جامعة فاروق الأول بالإسكندرية والتي بدأت ببعض كليات تابعة لجامعة فؤاد الأول بالقاهرة في عام 1938، ثم أصبحت جامعة مستقلة في أغسطس/آب من عام 1942، وافتتاح متحف فؤاد الأول الزراعي.
