CANADAكندا عربي الجفاف يُلحق أضراراً كبيرة بمحاصيل وسط كيبيك، سلّة خبز المقاطعة by admin 24 يوليو، 2020 written by admin 24 يوليو، 2020 123 راديو كندا الدولي / إعداد فادي الهاروني | barid@rcinet.ca لن تكون كميات الأمطار المتساقطة في الأيام الأخيرة كافية لإنقاذ الموسم الزراعي في وسط كيبيك (Centre-du-Québec)، إحدى المناطق الإدارية الـ17 في ثانية كبريات المقاطعات الكندية من حيث عدد السكان وحجم الاقتصاد. فالطقس الجاف الذي طال مناطق واسعة من شرق كندا منذ أواخر فصل الربيع ألحق أضراراً كبيرة بالمزروعات والمحاصيل في منطقة وسط كيبيك التي تُعتبر “سلة خبز” مقاطعة كيبيك. ويرى رئيس فرع وسط كيبيك في اتحاد المنتجين الزراعيين في المقاطعة (UPA) دانيال أبيل أنّ الأضرار غير قابلة للإصلاح. ويشير أبيل في هذا المجال إلى أنّ محصول الحصاد الأول من التِبن قبل نحو شهر لم يكن جيداً، فالخسائر تقدَّر بنحو 50% من الإنتاج العادي. ويتوقّع أبيل بأسف ألّا يختلف الوضع كثيراً بالنسبة لمحصول الحصاد الثاني الجاري حالياً. ويُستخدم التِبن علفاً للمواشي. تراجَع محصول التبن هذه السنة بسبب الجفاف (Denis Babin / Radio-Canada) وما يجعل الصيف الحالي بالغ الصعوبة للمزارعين هو أنّ الجفاف طال كافة مناطق كيبيك، وبالتالي من المستبعد أن يستطيع مزارعو منطقة وسط كيبيك التزود بالعلف لمواشيهم من مناطق أُخرى في المقاطعة، وسيتعيّن عليهم بالتالي استيراد الأعلاف من مقاطعة أونتاريو، جارة كيبيك الغربية، أو من مقاطعات الغرب أو من الولايات المتحدة. ومن غير المتوقّع أن تكون محاصيل الحبوب أفضل من محاصيل التبن، فالجفاف ترك عليها أيضاً تأثيراً سلبياً. وكشف أبيل في مقابلة مع راديو كندا أنّ عدداً من المزارعين أبلغوه أنهم ينوون التخلي عن الزراعة بسبب الصعوبات التي واجهوها خلال السنة الحالية التي شهدت وصول جائحة “كوفيد – 19”. وإذا كان أبيل غير قادر بعد على تقدير نسبة المزارعين الذين قد يتخلون عن المهنة فهو يبدي قلقاً إزاء هذا الأمر. “سيساهم ذلك في إفراغ مناطقنا من سكانها وفي تفسخ النسيج الاجتماعي في صفوفنا”، يقول بأسف.
