قال رئيس الوزراء الكندي، جاستن ترودو، الجمعة، إن حرية التعبير “ليست بلا حدود”، وإنها يجب أن لا تُسبب “إساءة بشكل تعسفي وبدون داع” لفئات بعينها، وذلك خلال دفاعه عن مفهوم حرية التعبير.
وإجابة على سؤال حول الحق في نشر صور كاريكاتورية للنبي محمد، على غرار ما فعلت مجلة “شارلي إيبدو”، قال ترودو “سندافع دائما عن حرية التعبير”.
وأضاف “لكن حرية التعبير ليست بلا حدود”. وتابع “من واجبنا أن نتصرف باحترام تجاه الآخرين وأن نسعى إلى عدم جرح من نتشارك معهم المجتمع والمعمورة”.
وأوضح “ليس من حقنا مثلا أن نطلق النار في سينما تعج بالناس، توجد دائما حدود”.
واتخذ رئيس الوزراء الكندي مسافة من موقف الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، ودعا إلى استعمال حرية التعبير بـ”حذر”.
وأضاف “في مجتمع تعددي ومتنوع وقائم على الاحترام مثل مجتمعنا، من واجبنا أن نكون واعين حيال أثر كلماتنا وأفعالنا على الآخرين، خاصة الجاليات والفئات التي لا تزال تعاني قدرا كبيرا من التمييز”.
وعلى غرار ما أعلنه قبل يوم مع قادة الاتحاد الأوروبي، شدد ترودو على إدانة الاعتداء “المروع” في فرنسا.
وتابع “إنه غير قابل للتبرير. تدين كندا من صميم قلبها هذه الأفعال بينما تقف مع أصدقائنا الفرنسيين الذين يمرون بأوقات صعبة للغاية”.
وقتل ثلاثة أشخاص طعنا، الخميس، في كنيسة بمدينة نيس، جنوبي فرنسا، في اعتداء نفذه تونسي أُلقي القبض عليه.
وشهد الشرق الأوسط ردود فعل غاضبة على فرنسا والرئيس إيمانويل ماكرون على خلفية تصريحات دافع فيها عن حرية نشر الرسوم الكاريكاتورية في بلده.
وجاءت تعليقات ماكرون خلال تأبينٍ الأسبوع الماضي لصامويل باتي، المدرّس الذي قطع رأسه في الشارع عقب عرضه صورا كاريكاتورية للنبي محمد في حصة مدرسية حول حرية التعبير.
