كشف علماء عن أن هناك “مفارقة” تؤدي إلى أضرار تلحق بقدرة الرجال على الإنجاب بسبب أساليب يتبعونها من أجل الحصول على مظهر أكثر جاذبية.
كما رجحوا أن تناول المنشطات للحصول على عضلات مفتولة أو تناول أقراص مضادات الصلع للحفاظ على كثافة شعر الرأس، يؤثر سلبا على الخصوبة.
وسميت هذه المفارقة باسم “مفارقة موسمان بايسي” على اسمي العالمين اللذين اكتشفاها للمرة الأولى.
وتسبب هذه الحالة ألما نفسيا شديدا للأزواج الذين يعانون من أجل إنجاب أطفال.
وقال الأستاذ بجامعة براون الأمريكية جيمس موسمان: “لاحظت أن بعض الرجال الذين يأتون من أجل اختبار خصوبتهم، هم رجال ذوو أجسام ضخمة”.
وكان موسمان لا يزال يعد رسالة الدكتوراة في جامعة شيفيلد عندما بدأ في الربط بين ضعف الخصوبة وإساءة استخدام المنشطات.
وقال موسمان لبي بي سي: “يحاولون أن يظهروا بمظهر ضخم حقا حتى يبدو كأنهم في قمة النمو”.
وأضاف: “لكنهم يجعلون أنفسهم غير لائقين بالمعنى التطوري، وذلك لأنهم دون استثناء ليس لديهم حيوانات منوية في سائل القذف”.
وتحدث المنشطات البنائية في الجسم نفس أثر هرمون التيستوستيرون، وتستخدم كأدوية لتعزيز الأداء لزيادة نمو العضلات.
كما يستخدم ممارسو رياضة كمال الأجسام هذا النوع من المنشطات بانتظام.
وقال آلان بايسي، الأستاذ بجامعة شيفيلد، لبي بي سي: “أليس من المثير للسخرية أن الرجال يذهبون إلى صالات الألعاب الرياضية حتى يحصلون على مظهر رائع، وهو غالبا ما يسعون إليه لجذب النساء. وبينما هم يفعلون ذلك، ودون أن يقصدوا، تتراجع الخصوبة لديهم.”
وتوهم هذه الفئة من المنشطات الغدد النخامية في المخ بأن الخصيتين تقتربان من العمل بأقصى سرعة لهما.
دراسة: الشابات في انجلترا “لا يستمتعن” بحياتهن الجنسية
لذلك تستجيب تلك الغدد بالتوقف عن إفراز اثنين من الهرمونات، أحدهما يسمى “إف إس إتش” والآخر هو “إل إتش”، وهما هرمونان لهما دور رئيسي في إنتاج الحيوانات المنوية.
وقال الباحثون إن هناك تشابه بين هذه الحالات، وتلك الخاصة بالأشخاص الذين يتناولون عقاقير مضادة للصلع.
ويسبب عقار فيناسترايد المضاد للصلع تغيرات في عملية الأيض المسؤولة عن إفراز هرمون التيستوستيرون في الجسم، وهو ما قد يحد من تساقط الشعر، لكن الأعراض الجانبية لهذا العقار قد تتضمن الإصابة بضعف في الانتصاب وتدهور في الخصوبة.
جيمس موسمان وآلان بايسي، مكتشفا تلك “المفارقة التطورية”
وأضاف بايسي: “أعتقد أن من يتناولون المنشطات البنائية يُصابون بالعقم إلى حد قد يفوق تصورنا، وقد تصل نسبة الإصابة إلى 90 في المئة.”
وأضاف: “الإصابة بالصلع لا يمكن أن تحكمها ضوابط محددة، لكن مبيعات هذه العقاقير تشهد ارتفاعا حادا، وهو ما يجعل المشكلة أكثر انتشارا.”
“فشل في التطور”
يُعد معيار النجاح فيما يتعلق بالتطور هو نقل الجينات (التعليمات التي يحملها الحمض النووي) إلى الأجيال القادمة.
قال موسمان: “بينما يجعلك تناول الأدوية التي تستهدف تحسين المظهر أكثر جاذبية، فإنه قد يؤدي بك إلى الفشل في التطور”، في إشارة إلى إمكانية فقد القدرة على الإنجاب.
إن الأمر مختلف تماما عن ذيل الطاووس المبالغ فيه، الذي يجعل الذكور أكثر جاذبية للإناث ويزيد من فرص تمرير الجينات إلى الأجيال التالية.
وهناك بعض الأمثلة في عالم الطبيعة لحيوانات تضحي بقدرتها على التكاثر.

ويرى موسمان أن التفكير في أن تكون أكثر قبولا لدى الجنس الآخر أمر مقبول، لكن لا يجب أن يكون ذلك على حساب الإضرار بخصوبتك.
وقال بايسي لبي بي سي: “المفارقة ليست كل شيء هنا، فأعتقد أن هناك رسالة موجهة إلى مرضى الخصوبة يحملها هذا الاكتشاف”.
وأضاف أن الحالات التي تعاني من مشكلات في الخصوبة لا تزال تتوافد على العيادات، “لكن الرسالة لم تصل بعد إلى الشباب، وهي أن هناك مشكلة، وأن معلومات قليلة قد تجنبهم الكثير من المعاناة.”
