وفي رسالته التي نشرها اليوم السبت، دقائق قليلة بعد إعلان شبكات الأخبار الأمريكية عن فوز جو بايدن، ذكّر جوستان ترودو بالصداقة التي تجمع بين الشعبين الكندي والأمريكي.
وفي تغريدة على موقع تويتر، قال أنّه ينتظر بفارغ الصبر مواصلة العمل في هذا الاتجاه.
وكان جوستان ترودو قد أوضح قبيل الانتخابات الأمريكية أنّ “كندا ستواجه صعوبات أقلّ إذا ما تعاطت مع إدارة أميركية برئاسة جو بايدن.”

ومن جانبه هنّأ إيرين أوتول، زعيم الحزب المحافظ الكندي، الفائزيْن مؤكّدًا أنّ المحافظين الكنديين سيعملون دائمًا مع الولايات المتحدة لتعزيز “قيمنا المشتركة وعلاقاتنا الاقتصادية الوثيقة.”
أمّا زعيم الحزب الديمقراطي الجديد، جاغميت سينغ، فقد هنأ الرئيس المنتخب ووجّه كلمة لنائبة الرئيس كامالا هاريس.
“اليوم صنعتِ التاريخ. أول امرأة من أصول تُنتخب لمنصب نائب الرئيس. و الأهم من ذلك أنك ستكونين قدوة لأجيال من الشابات في المستقبل.”، كما قال جاغميت سينغ.
وأشاد زعيم الكتلة الكيبيكية، إيف فرانسوا بلانشيه، بفوز المرشح الديمقراطي. وكان قد أعلن صراحة فيما مضى أنه يفضل جو بايدن على دونالد ترامب .
