شاهين في “رباعيته الإسكندرانية” التي شجعت سينمائيين عرباً كثراً على خوض التجربة من بعده وإن بنجاحات متفاوتة. بين المبدع وأمكنته المهم هنا، في عودة إلى فلليني أنه كان مبتدعاً حقيقياً ومقداماً للنوع في تلك الأفلام الثلاثة: “المهرجون” (1970)، “فلليني – روما” (1971) وأخيراً “أماركورد – أنا أتذكر” الذي ختم الثلاثية ولو مؤقتاً في عام 1973. ونقول مؤقتاً لأن فلليني سيعود مراراً وتكراراً إلى سيرته الذاتية في شرائط أخرى لاحقاً ولكن… بتوفيق أقل. ومهما يكن فإن “فلليني – روما” يبقى الأجمل والأقوى بين أفلام تلك الثلاثية لأنه الأكثر احتفالاً ليس بذات المخرج وسينمائيته وحسب بل بالمدينة التي ارتبطت سينماه بها. أما الفيلمان الآخران فقد طغت عليهما هموم أساسية أخرى ولو دائماً من خلال التركيز على ذات صاحب السيرة. ففي الأول “المهرجون” يحدثنا السينمائي عن الطفل الذي كانه يوم اكتشف ذات صباح نصب خيمة سيرك إلى جوار منزله في مدينته ريميني وراح يراقب كل أنواع المهرجين يمارسون حياتهم وعملهم من حوله فيسحرونه ويخلقون لديه ذلك الشغف الذي لم يفارقه أبداً وسيوصله لاحقاً إلى سحر سينماه. لكن المخرج سرعان ما يقطع فيلمه ليتأمل في “اختفاء المهرجين” ليحل محلهم مهرجون من نوع آخر أقل ظرفاً وأقل صدقاً هم السياسيون والإعلاميون ونجوم المجتمع. أما في “أماركورد” الذي يتابع فيه سنوات مراهقته وفتوته في ريميني نفسها، فإنه من خلال سيرته واكتشافه السينما والمرأة والسياسة في الوقت نفسه، يغوص في تسييس موضوعه مركزاً على سنوات الفاشية الموسولينية أكثر مما على سيرته الخاصة، أو بالتوازي معها. ومن هنا يتفرد “فلليني روما” بكونه المفاجئة. فالفيلم ينطلق من مشاهد صورتها كاميرا فلليني تحت الأرض في إحدى مناطق روما حيث ثمة فريق تصوير يقوم بتصوير مشاهد في تلك الأغوار موضوعها اكتشاف جماعة من المنقبين لآثار قديمة ولوحات جدرانية رائعة حمّله المخرج لاحقاً وهو يركّب الفيلم قدراً كبيراً من الدلالات، نجد الفيلم يتحول في مشاهده التالية بعيداً من أية سردية متواصلة أو تلاحق في الموضوع، إلى مشاهد ترك فيها فلليني العنان لمخيلته العريضة ولما تختزنه ذاكرته من صور تلك المدينة في زمنين يبدوان هنا متكاملين: سنوات الثلاثين حين وصل فلليني الشاب من ريميني إلى روما باحثاً عن مستقبل ما وسنوات السبعين حين صار واحداً من كبار مبدعي الفن السابع. وهكذا
