وقال الصربي في مؤتمر صحفي السبت “عندما تبلغت بالأمر، كانت صدمة فعلية. بقيت أبكي لأيام، أرى شريط حياتي يمر أمام عيني”.
وأضاف في المؤتمر الذي انتهى بتصفيق الصحفيين وقوفا “سأواجه الأمر (المرض)، سأنظر في عينيه كما فعلت دائما في حياتي (..) لا أطيق صبرا للذهاب الى المستشفى وبدء القتال (العلاج)”.
وتابع: “للأسف لم أحصل على شيء (بسهولة) في حياتي. توجب علي القتال من أجل كل شيء. سأقاتل ضد هذا الأمر أيضا”.
وكشف طبيب الفريق جاني ناني بأن الصربي، البالغ من العمر 50 عاما، يعاني من “لوكيميا حادة”، لكن فرصه بالشفاء من السرطان لا بأس بها، وأنه سيكون قادرا على مواصلة أداء مهامه على رأس الإدارة الفنية.
وأوضح: “قبل 20 عاما لربما لم نكن لنتحدث عن مواجهة هذا المرض، لكن حاليا مع المعرفة (الطبية) يمكننا حتى أن نتحدث عن مستقبل مشرق لمدرب قادر على مواصلة مهامه”، متابعا “هذا مرض يمكن التغلب عليه”.
وجاء ذلك مع استعداد المدرب لخوض موسمه الأول الكامل مع الفريق الذي تعاقد معه في منتصف الموسم الماضي، وتمكن تحت إشرافه من تحقيق 8 انتصارات في آخر 12 مباراة.
وأنقذ ميهايلوفيتش الفريق من خطر الهبوط الى الدرجة الثانية، وقاده لإنهاء الموسم في المركز العاشر، بفارق 6 نقاط عن أول مراكز السقوط، مما دفع بولونيا الى منحه عقدا لثلاثة أعوام حتى يونيو 2022.
وتربط ميهايلوفيتش علاقة وثيقة بإيطاليا التي انتقل إليها عام 1992، ملتحقا بفريق روما من فريق رد ستار بلغراد.
لكن اسمه لمع مع القطب الثاني للعاصمة، لاتسيو، حيث أمضى 6 أعوام أحرز خلالها ألقابا عدة منهاالدوري الإيطالي مرة، والكأس المحلية مرتين.
ويعد الدولي الصربي السابق من أبرز مسددي الركلات الحرة في التاريخ الحديث للعبة، وهو يتشارك مع أندريا بيرلو، في الرقم القياسي لعدد الأهداف المسجلة من هذه التسديدات في الدوري الإيطالي (28).
وأثارت الأنباء عن ميهايلوفيتش موجة تضامن معه في إيطاليا، لاسيما من قبل ناديه السابق لاتسيو الذي كتب عبر حسابه على “تويتر”، “لقد فزنا بالكثير معا، وسنكون معك أيضا في هذه المعركة”.
أما نادي إنتر ميلانو فكتب أيضا عبر تويتر متوجها الى اللاعب الذي اعتزل كرة القدم عام 2006 “نتمنى لك القوة، سينيسا. الجميع في إنتر الى جانبك في المعركة التي تنتظرك”.
